SOME JUST DON'T CARE, THEIR SATISFIED BY JUST GETTING BY
ITS LIKE A SLOW MOVER WHO DOESN'T GO AS FAST AS THE OTHERS JUST SO THEY CAN GET PAID EQUAL TO THE FASTER, MORE DESERVING WORKERS
THEY MAINTAIN ENOUGH SO THAT THEIR BOSS WON'T FIRE THEM
I THINK THIS IS HAPPENING MORE OFTEN MAINLY TO DO WITH THE WORK FOR HIRES / THE MAINTAINERS / THE 1 STYLE FOR WORK-OTHER STYLES FOR HOME / PAYIN' THE BILLS ONLY TYPE
OR LIKE I SAID ON ALBERTO RUIZ'S BLOG:
"ARE YOU A TRUE ARTIST OR A PRODUCT PUSHER?"
THEY SAY "WELL, ITS JUST A JOB"
IMHO SPECIFICLY IN THE COMIC BOOK INDUSTRY ITS MORE THAN THAT, THERE IS ALSO THE CONNECTION WITH THE FANS, THE MAGIC, THE BONUS OF BEING KNOWN FOR ONES WORK NOT JUST IN AN IMAGINARY BULLPIN / CUBICLE / STUDIO ENVIROMENT
MOST OF THE VETERENS KNOW THIS AND SOME DON'T UNFORTUNATELY HAVE THAT TRUE APPRECIATION
SURE IT'S A JOB, BUT IT'S A JOB WHERE THE CUSTOMER KNOWS WHO YOU ARE
I REPEAT: KNOWS - WHO - YOU - ARE
JUST SAYING THAT YOU APPRECIATE THE FANS CAN BE ENOUGH
THAT IN TURN HELPS YOU PAY THE BILLS
BUT IT HAS TO BE TRUELY SINCERE
but i can be wrong :)
