Tim Burton Painting Demo

Hello everyone. A week or so ago, Ryan Wood and Mark Behm shared their painting process on their blog, so I was inspired to do the same. This is a video showing my process when painting digitally. I painted this using a Split-Complementary Palette, a limited palette yes, but you will see that you can get plenty of colors from such a palette, and the nice thing is that it creates a mood as well as harmony within your painting. Hope you enjoy. The music is The White Stripes, I really like their new album a lot. Many thanks to Thierry and Bobby Chiu at Imaginism Studios for helping me get this video up and running so I can share it with everyone here.

Very cool stuff Jason! Awesome caricature.
This is such great work. I was showing your video to some friends and I told them "this already looks amazing a minute into the video, and it lasts for 16!"
You are one of my favourite caricaturists, thanks for this.
Wicked video Jason!!!
thanks for this cool video, great painting.Just a question, why do you reverse the painting when you're working on details? And not to check the all...thanks!!
Thanks so much guys! Polyminthe . . . not sure what you mean? I flip the image horizontally as well as upside down . . . it helps you notice mistakes or areas that are lacking in composition, color, value and so forth . . . hope that answers your question?
amazing work!
wow. just...wow.
he looks like the mad magazine guy :)
